Data collected and purposes

Booking: first and last name, email, phone, postal address, dates, number of guests, arrival time and any message. Used to conclude and perform the rental (legal basis: performance of the contract).
Payment and security deposit: handled by Stripe. We never receive nor store your card number, only the payment reference, the card type and its last digits.
Police registration form: for guests of foreign nationality, surname, first names, date and place of birth, nationality, usual address, contact details and number of accompanying children under 15 (legal basis: legal obligation).
Messages exchanged with us by email or in the guest area, to answer your requests and follow up on your stay.
Guest area: your email address, to send you a sign-in link.
Contact form: name, email, phone and message, to reply to you.
Accounting: invoices and credit notes (legal basis: legal obligation).
Security: IP address and technical logs, to protect the website and prevent fraud (legal basis: legitimate interest).

We do not sell your data nor use it for advertising. No automated decision is made about you.

Recipients

Your data is intended for SK LOC and, as far as they are concerned, for:

Stripe, for payments and security deposits;
where applicable, Smoobu, our booking management software (Germany), to prevent double bookings with other platforms;
Anthropic (United States), when we translate a message you wrote to us using an artificial intelligence service; this transfer is covered by the safeguards provided by the GDPR (European Commission standard contractual clauses);
our email provider and the website host (see the legal notice);
the police, at their request, for police registration forms;
public authorities, as required by our obligations (taxes, tourist tax).

Retention periods

Bookings: 5 years after the stay; after that, your name and contact details are erased and only anonymous figures are kept for our statistics.
Invoices, credit notes and accounting records: 10 years (legal obligation).
Police registration forms: 6 months after departure (legal obligation).
Messages: 3 years after the stay.
Guest area with no booking or activity: 3 years.
Bookings started but not paid: 30 days.
Technical logs: 12 months.

Your rights

You may access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to its processing, and ask to receive it in a common format (portability). We reply within one month. Some data must however be kept to meet our legal obligations (invoices, police registration forms).

If you believe your rights are not respected, you may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).

Cookies

This website uses no advertising or audience measurement cookies. It only sets cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work and exempt from consent:

session cookie: booking in progress, sign-in to the guest area;
form security cookie (protection against request forgery);
where applicable, your language choice.

Your display preference (light or dark) is stored in your browser and never transmitted.

The property map shows images provided by OpenStreetMap: their servers receive your IP address in order to display them. Payment takes place on a secure Stripe page, which applies its own privacy policy.

Security

The website is only accessible over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to the administration is restricted to our team and protected by two-factor authentication; property access codes are encrypted in our database.
